TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH DESIGN

The company presently supports over one hundred and ten women from three communities across Kenya who supply large amounts of sisal on a monthly basis.

Sisal, grown extensively in plantations across Kenya, is presently exported to destinations worldwide,in the form of a coarse baler twine. Communities of people live near the crop though do not derive a means of income from the plant.

Our product design and development team has explored the potential of this natural fibre in terms of function, versatility and durability. The results are simply outstanding!

Working closely with groups of women within their homes, the team has trained individuals to sustainably extract the fibre from sisal plants that are easily accessible. Lives are transformed as families have a steady source of income while tending to their daily tasks. Decor Interiors, have to date, procured over a million linear meters of Sisal from the Women Communities with a vision to grow continually and increase their outreach, touching more lives. The Women are able to start other income generating activities like chicken farms or purchasing sewing machines to provide services. They are also able to contribute towards school expenses and providing meals for their families. Their enterprising spirit and will to care for those they love is felt, and we endeavour to increase our orders for Sisal from them at every opportunity.

The Company also enhances technical skills by equiping its manpower with quality skills for sustainable economic development. The Company is continually contributing towards enhancing the skills of the women and men that make up the production team based in the Industrial Area in Nairobi, Kenya. These individuals are the heart beat of the company, and their well being and continuous progress is crucial in our goal setting.
