Who We Are

Decor Interiors Limited specialises in the design and fabrication of eco-conscious Furniture and Lighting made exclusively from Sisal. With over 20 years’ experience in the production of hand crafted products for Interiors from locally sourced materials, the Company is now renowned for the innovative and contemporary design styling of their Furniture Collections throughout Kenya.

In 2010, the Product Design and Development Team at Decor Interiors Ltd started a mission to discover a way to transform interiors while being eco-conscious. Theirs was a true pioneering spirit! The result was not only the discovery of the hidden creative potential of the Sisal plant, Agave Sisaliana, it was also the culmination of the great skills of the Kenyan People.

 Sisal, which consists of a rosette of sword-shaped leaves that grow best in warm conditions in seemingly endless rows across the horizon, is seen on any road trip we may take across most areas of Kenya. It’s almost hostile profile as a plant does not set off images of comfort and enduring elegance.

Decor Interiors Ltd had a different vision and brought this to life. While Sisal has been exported all over the world since the 1970s for multiple industrial functions in a raw and coarse form, Decor Interiors adopted this plant as a medium for beautiful designs with a contemporary earth styling.

The team investigated the pruning, treatment and finishing of the fibre so that a soft and consistent twine could be crafted into furniture and lighting pieces. The outcome was an approachable charm.

The Company has since completed a multitude of Fit outs for Homes, Offices, Lodges and Hotels. The current 2021 Collection is displayed in a 3000 square foot Showroom at the Eldama Park, Tsavo Block – First Floor where Clients are free to view, feel and test the products.

For larger projects, a portfolio of bespoke designs can be developed to meet specific requirements.
